Unlocking Success with Faith and Purpose: A Guide for Entrepreneurs

Joint ventures

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t. You are right!” — Napoleon Hill

This quote by Napoleon Hill is a powerful reminder of how our thoughts shape our actions, our success, and ultimately, our future. But what if there’s more to it than just thinking positively? What if the real breakthrough comes when you take action based on your beliefs, aligning them with a higher purpose? This idea has been the catalyst for both my personal and professional journey, and it’s a principle I believe can transform your business and your life.

Transforming Faith into Unbreakable Action: The Catalyst for Change

In my own life, the shift from simply believing in possibilities to taking unwavering action began with the teachings of Dr. Bill Winston. His sermons and books became a spiritual catalyst that launched me into uncharted territory—both in my faith and my business. One of the most pivotal moments came during my 21-day bike ride from Chicago to Mobile, Alabama. This journey wasn’t just a physical test of endurance—it was a faith-driven mission. I realized that if I could push through the pain, doubts, and obstacles of such a journey, I could tackle any challenge in my business and life.

Dr. Winston’s message about embracing faith in action resonated deeply with me. He emphasizes that we are called to step out in faith, to dream bigger, and to trust in God’s plan even when it doesn’t always make sense. I reflected on the scripture:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9).
This verse reminded me that my journey wasn’t about relying solely on my understanding, but trusting in God’s higher plan. When I started thinking bigger, believing bigger, and acting in faith, the doors began to open in ways I never expected.

The Power of Faith in Business Growth

This mindset shift—transforming faith into unbreakable action—has been the foundation for every business decision I’ve made. But it didn’t stop there. I realized that aligning my business goals with my faith wasn’t just about achieving success—it was about creating an impact. The first question I asked myself was, “How do I want to serve and affect my community?”

The more I pondered this, the clearer the answer became: I needed to think bigger. God wants us to dream beyond our own limitations, beyond our comfort zones, and beyond the small goals we often set for ourselves. The way we approach our business growth—whether it’s financial, operational, or relational—should reflect that. It should be rooted in a purpose greater than self-serving success.

Ask yourself: How big can you dream for your business and your community? How do you want to make an impact?

Seeds of Purpose: Thinking Bigger, Acting Bigger

The concept of planting seeds is not just a spiritual metaphor—it’s a powerful principle for anyone seeking business growth. In my own experience, this idea has been the key to transforming my business and my legacy. Every action I take—whether it’s strategic planning, networking, or investing in community projects—is a seed planted for future growth.

But it’s not just about planting seeds—it’s about planting them in the right soil. What soil are you planting your business goals in? Are your goals grounded in faith, humility, and a desire to serve others? These are the types of seeds that yield long-lasting, fruitful results. As Dr. Leroy Thompson Sr. puts it in Sow and Grow Rich: “You reap what you sow, but only after you’ve planted with purpose.”

Further, Dr. Thompson reflects on the importance of humility and self-awareness in the entrepreneurial journey:

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
This quote challenges us to stay grounded in humility and recognize that our gifts and talents are not for self-glorification but for service to others. In your business, how can you maintain humility and be sober in your thinking while pursuing your vision?

This is why I continue to push my limits, even physically. Every challenge I face, every seed I plant, is an act of faith in motion. And now, I want to challenge you to visualize your own goals in motion. What legacy do you want to leave behind? What steps are you taking to ensure that your goals are grounded in purpose and faith?

Reflect: How can you serve your community today through your business? What legacy are you planting with your actions?

The Parable of the Sower: Nurturing the Right Environment

In the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:3-9), the sower scatters seeds on different types of ground. Some seeds fall on the path, some on rocky ground, and others on fertile soil. The seeds that fall on fertile soil grow and bear fruit. This is a vivid illustration of how your purpose—when planted in fertile ground and nurtured with faith—can grow into something transformative.

Consider this: What type of soil are you planting your business goals in? Are you scattering them in environments that foster growth, or are you leaving them in places where they are unlikely to thrive? The environment in which your goals are planted matters. For business owners and investors, this means surrounding yourself with the right people, building a network that supports your values, and continually nurturing your vision.

Just as the sower tends to the seeds in fertile soil, so too must you nurture your business with the right mindset and principles to see growth. The people you associate with, the culture you build, and the values you live by all contribute to the soil in which your business goals are planted.

Our Next Goal: Raising Millions for Mental Health Awareness

In 2025, I’ll be biking again—this time, from Chicago to South Bend, Indiana. This journey is part of my greater mission to raise $1 million for adults living with mental health disorders and the communities that support them. Mental health is an issue close to my heart, and it’s something I believe needs more awareness and action.

For me, this isn’t just a bike ride—it’s a calling. It’s about using my business growth and my platform to support causes that align with my values. That’s why I continue to combine my entrepreneurial spirit with philanthropy. I want to encourage you to think about the causes that matter most to you and how you can use your business to make a difference.

How can your business contribute to a cause that’s bigger than you?
What legacy will your business leave in the world?

The Importance of Surrounding Yourself with the Right People

Building a business is about more than just financial success. It’s about surrounding yourself with the right people—those who align with your vision, values, and faith. Dr. Winston often says, “Surround yourself with people whom fit your future and not your past.” This quote has been instrumental in guiding my relationships with both clients and business partners. When you’re on a mission to transform your business and your community, the people around you can either help propel you forward or hold you back.

As a faith-based entrepreneur, you need to ask yourself: Who is in your circle? Are they helping you grow towards your goals, or are they holding you in your past?

Take Action: Be a Part of the Movement

It’s time to take your faith and transform it into action. Whether it’s setting bigger business goals, donating to a cause you believe in, or simply surrounding yourself with the right people, the steps you take today will plant the seeds for tomorrow’s success.

As I prepare for my bike ride to South Bend, I invite you to join me in this mission by contributing to the cause. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us provide support and awareness for adults living with mental health disorders and the communities that uplift them.
